There are many ways to do God’s work - to minister to others, to sing God’s praises, to prepare the altar for worship, to receive people at the front door and welcome them, to make coffee, to help with the younger folk, to fix things around the church buildings, or sometimes just to sit and chat or maybe more importantly just listen.
God provides each and every one of his children with talents, as he loves us, he helps us to help others. St. John’s mission statement declares that the parish of St. John’s serves to teach and enlighten God’s word, to foster and sustain individual and collective worship and spiritual growth and to be responsive to all human needs in its Christian Outreach.
The question for most of us is…. What are my talents and how best can I use them? Take a look and see - you might find yourself
The historical records of St. John’s tell us that we have enjoyed the services of twenty Clergy during the one hundred and fifty years from 1852 to 2002. Each one of them shared with us their God given talent to serve. We presently have as our interregnum The Reverend Canon Don Beatty, while we await the Lord’s selection of a new rector at St. John’s. Canon Don has been welcomed by all at St. John’s and we are enjoying him greatly. His experience and joy of teaching is shared with us, as he caringly ministers to all.
You are invited to use and support these ministries with your talent, time and gifts.
