The Music and the Choir plays an important role at St. John’s, we just love to sing the praises of our Lord. Now some of us are less talented than others in that regard but we all sing anyway!! Again our records tell us that in 1851 a pump organ was purchased for the sum of ten pounds and that over the early years many willing volunteers played for the parishioners. In May of 1968 an electric organ was installed and eventually replaced with the present Allen organ. We have been fortunate to have had very talented organists.
Our organist accompanies the choir and parishioners in Sunday Worship Service. St. John’s choir may not be the largest in people but it surely has the largest heart. Each week the choir rehearses on Thursday evenings and prepares to lead the congregation in the Sunday hymns and sing the choir anthems. The choir welcomes anyone who wishes to share their talent in worshipping with music.
To enable all people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus
